The sample potential profile is represented by two 2-nm wide rectangular barriers in a GaAs layer, 90 and 100 meV high with a 2-nm gap between them. The transmittance plot computed for an electron with the effective mass of 0.067me exhibits a resonance peak at energies below the barrier height due to the quantum tunnelling.
